DJ Tranzit Offers Up A Special Summertime Edition of Switch Tonight

If your Hump Day schedule is a little light tonight, consider jetting up to Snottsdale to hang with the always-energetic DJ Tranzit. We just got a text blast from the faux-hawked house mixologist pimping a special version of his long-running Switch dance night that's taking place at Cream (4252 North Drinkwater Boulevard, 602-222-9922).

Tranzit's been a staple of the P-Town house community over the past five years, having spun his high-energy blend at every major danceteria this 'berg has to offer. Switch has been his regular weekly gig in recent years, but due to a hectic summertime sked (including organizing the H20 pool parties at the posh Mondrian Scottsdale), he's making the event monthly and moving it to Cream from the nearby Pussycat Lounge until the fall. Hence, tonight's jam-packed soiree, which is a part of the club's Giant Wednesday series and also features sessions from Michael James, Freightrain, Turner & Heit, and Rani G.

Doors open at 9 p.m. with a $15 admission. You can text "SWITCH" to 878787 on your mobile phone or e-mail info@vt-dj.com for a reduced cover and free drinks.

Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
