Troubled hip-hop star DMX, whom we profiled just after he was sentenced to a year in the clink last December, will be released on July 1, according to the website hiphopwired.com.
DMX (real name: Earl Simmons) was on the comeback trail last year when he was sentenced to a year in jail for violating the terms of his probation. As we previously reported, the judge sent DMX to the mental health unit at the Alhambra Arizona State Prison Complex.
DMX’s latest incarceration is his 13th stint in the pokey. He will reportedly be released July 1, and remain under supervision until August 12. Let’s hope that this time, the embattled rapper can stay out of trouble long enough to do what he’s best at — rap.
