It’s Spring Break 2012 time, suckahs! A time for all that overrated hanging out on a boat stuff, drinking until you’re blackout drunk and hooking up with pasty-wearing hard-bodied strangers.
Even though MTV dropped their “music television” moniker, they are still synonymous with the college-aged holiday, bringing in celebrity hosts to MC some tropical destination for kids to flock to, as well as live performances by big-name music acts.
This year’s fiasco is going down in Sin City at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, where artists B.o.B, Young Jeezy, and The Wanted are scheduled to perform.
Whether you’re making the drive out to the MTV-sponsored event, heading down south into Mexico or kicking it “local” at Lake Havasu this year, make sure you keep the tunes bumping and the STD’s at bay.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Spring Break performances of yesteryear.
Blink 182 performing “What’s My Age Again”
Because spring break is the perfect excuse to play your guitar naked.
Cypress Hill performing “How I Could Just Kill a Man” Because only Cypress Hill can pull off hoodies and beanies during spring break.
Notorious B.I.G performing “Big Poppa”
Because we too, like it when you call us Big Poppa.
The Lonely Island performing at Spring Break 1988 Because the perhaps the greatest spring break is the one that didn’t actually happen in 1988.
