Did anyone watch David Letterman Monday night? Well, if you didn't, you missed the greatest rock band of all time, Led Zeppelin, interviewed after receiving a Kennedy Center Honor.
Something about seeing them together made me feel...overwhelmed. They're still alive but they have no intention of getting back together. How could this not anger any Zepp fan?
Most of us are ready to calmly relinquish any future children and most of our personal assets for ticket to that show. But there seems to be a resurgence of other awesomely powerful rock bands coming to Phoenix in the next six months. Hopefully this wave of classic rock greatness will help ease some of those Zepp pangs.
Nine-time Grammy award winning artist, and one of the original female badasses, Bonnie Raitt is scheduled to perform Sunday, February 17, at Mesa Arts Center. She released Slipstream back in April and it's some of her best work.
Fleetweed Mac is hitting the U.S. Airways Center on Thursday, May 30. Yes...they're getting the band back together. They haven't had a studio album since 2003's Say You Will, so my guess would be to expect their playlist to be full of the classics.
Finally, Gregg Allman, a legend to any rock fan, and a god to anyone who ever owned a blues album, is making his way to the Showroom at Talking Stick Resort on Tuesday, January 8. He's soldiered through Hepatitis C and a liver transplant, releasing 2011's Low Country Blues and a personal memoir My Cross to Bear earlier this year. What to expect with this tour? Who cares? It's Gregg freakin' Allman. Here's the rest of the just announced pack: Bonnie Raitt
