Few things that were fresh and fly in 1993 are still cool these days, save for Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and the Phoenix’s Furious Styles Crew. The local b-boy collective has stuck around for almost two decades now and isn’t slowing down. You can catch the FSC busting out with their eye-popping stunts at hip-hop and street culture shindigs throughout the Valley, including a special edition of The Blunt Club on Thursday, November 17, at the Yucca Tap Room, 29 West Southern Avenue in Tempe. The event will kick off a weekend-long celebration in honor of the collective’s 18th birthday and will feature b-boy performances, live art, and hot beats. The DJ lineup includes Blunt Club residents Pickster One and Element, as well as sessions from Radar, Tricky T, and Chicago’s Intel. The party starts at 9 p.m. Admission is free. Call 623-748-0372.

At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $17,250 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
