Our biggest complaint about the First Friday art walks is the lack of venues for getting stinking drunk. Carly’s has a huge waiting list, The Roosevelt is packed beyond capacity, and Bikini Lounge’s cash machine is usually tapped out by 10 p.m. The situation is so desperate, we’ve had friends resort to spiked Thirstbusters to get through the night. So when we saw people lining up at The Lost Leaf (on Fifth Street, just south of Roosevelt), we were pumped to pop in. (Click here for more photos.)
Looks like we weren’t the only ones hard up for alcohol on Friday, because there was a steady stream of art walkers looking for a quick break. Even though the place was busy, the line moved quickly and it was no problem to grab a bottle of beer or a glass of wine. In fact, everyone loved it so much, the place was bumpin’ into the wee hours of the night.
