As August winds down, it's time to start thinking about your upcoming Halloween weekend. Believe it or not, there's better options than sitting at home ripping through your siblings' candy for all the Reese's. I would suggest heading over to Axis/Radius for the 12th annual Ghostball, which features two-time Grammy nominee DJ Morgan Page and Australian dance music duo The Stafford Brothers.

Costumes are welcome. I mean, it's gotta be better than pumpkin smashing and teepeeing your neighbor's front lawn. Or maybe not. But hell, there will probably be candy.

Indie hip-hop artist Astronautalis is hitting the Valley next month, bringing his electro/indie rock/whatever-else-he-can-throw-in- style to the Crescent Ballroom. Last year's This is Our Science was pretty awesome, so anyone who's brave enough to venture out that night will probably walk away wondering "Where have I been since 2003?"
