The Phoenix indie crowd has a new pit stop on their Friday-night boozing agenda. Glam (formerly Ky’s Place), at 32nd Street and Indian School Road, is a perfectly petite dance club stuck in a strip mall. The place goes nuts after midnight, when the pre-drinking is over and an ass-shaking good time is in order with FauxShow productions’ wall-shaking DJs. With a cheap cover, stiff drinks and checkerboard decor, the place is perfect for a late-night romp on a lighted-up dance floor. Matthew Barney’s The Cremaster Cycle plays on the TV screen as all barstools are abandoned for rhythmic thrashing. The drinks may stop flowing at 2 a.m., but the dancing continues until the herd moves on to the inevitable after-party — although it may be worth it to stick around, because rumor has it that this past Friday ended in delicious drama. Yes, Glam guarantees a glorious night.
