Guns N' Roses is playing their first show in four years and only U.S. show of the year at the Sturgis motorcycle rally in South Dakota.
Never have I wanted to go to a motorcycle rally -- or to South Dakota -- more.
Sadly, Daughtry will also be playing. I guess motorcycle dudes are no longer too tough for a little American Idol-type fun. (Maybe he'll run afoul of some Hell's Angels and end up bludgeoned to death with meth lab implements?)
Anyway, The show goes down at the awfully-named and newly constructed Rock N' Rev Amphitheater at Monkey Rock USA.
A press release points out that GnR is one of Q magazine's "50 Bands to See Before You Die" and I won't disagree. Axl melted my face off (nearly a decade ago now?) even with a backing band of stiffs and with me sitting in the upper deck of a huge area. When he's on, no one's better. When he's off, he's still entertaining.
