August already promised to deliver the musical goods to EDM fans with a couple of events for dubstep lovers, when Relentless Beats announced headlining shows from DJ Diesel and Wooli at Chandler's Rawhide Event Center, bringing along acts like GHENGAR and Level UP, among more local talent.
But this past Thursday, another rollout of August festivals was announced, this time by someone other than the familiar local promoter.
Insomniac, one of the largest EDM music distributors and promoters in the world, announced two one-day music festivals coming to Scottsdale: Bassrush Arizona, on Friday, August 15, and Night Trip Festival, Saturday, August 16. Both festivals are iterations of their existing California festivals, Bass Rush and Day Trip L.A. The two festivals will mark Insomniac’s first events in Arizona since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bassrush Arizona features a modest but powerful lineup of hot names in dubstep, including Barely Alive, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Jon Casey, Midnight Tyrannosaurus, and Ray Volpe, who was in the Valley a little under two months in support of Sullivan King at the Rawhide Event Center.
Meanwhile, Night Trip brings the sort of deep house sound to festival grounds that you recently only get in Arizona at offshoot stages, nightclubs, or warehouse venues. The festival brings along both key players like Walker & Royce, Dombresky, Jackie Hollander and up-and-comers like Kieran San Jose and Cade Solito.
Both events will be hosted at Westworld of Scottsdale, an event venue that has hosted a slew of EDM events, including last year’s Supernatural Arizona, which hosted Halloween weekend and featured house superstar Chris Lake.
The announcement, which was posted on the organization’s Instagram, Insomniac Events, received a high volume of excitement. Many people lauded Insomniac's return and wished them a warm welcome.
Another question popping up online about the upcoming events at WestWorld is whether these dance parties will be held in the venue's indoor or outdoor spaces. We asked Insomniac, and if you were fearing too much sun, no worries, these will be indoor events.
Two-day combo passes are on sale now on the Insomniac website.
