P-Town has played host to a number of giants in the drum ‘n’ bass genre over the past six months, including Goldie, Dieselboy, and Dara, to name a few. And now, to top it off, one of the godheads of the d’n’b movement, Jumping Jack Frost, is gonna be thumping into the Valley for a visit, on Thursday, August 30. The 40-year-old U.K. mixmaster, who helped popularize junglism in the early ’90s through his label, V Recordings, and by spinning d’n’b in underground London clubs, is coming to Bar Smith, 130 East Washington Street, courtesy of the AZ Konkrete Jungle crew. Britain’s “Queen of Jungle” Dyer will also be working the wheels of steel, as will locals DJ Wednesday and DJ Bass. Doors open at 10 p.m. There’s no cover to get into the lower bar; upstairs access costs $10. Visit www.myspace.com/konkretejungleaz.
