If you're a fan of The Love Me Nots, a local act that makes their bones playing originals inspired by the garage acts from the Motor City, you will not want to miss The Detroit Cobras at The Rhytm Room on May 27. Actually, anyone with even the tinest soft spot for classic garage rock won't want to miss the band, which features the inimitable voice of Rachel Nagy, and a saucy backing band playing old, semi-obscure R&B songs. The garage revival that sent the Cobras spiraling upward has long since died, but these guys are still playing for a reason: They flat-out rock.
