Funky house vets the East Coast Boogiemen won’t be here in full, but you’ll get a half-dose when Ken Christensen hits the Real Bar (formerly P.I./Boston’s) on Friday, June 17, as part of his “Ken You Dig It” tour. Christensen, and ECBM partner Juan Zapata, launched Odds and Ends Records in 2002, and were one of URB magazine’s “Next 100” back in 2000. Ken’s no stranger to working solo, though; he just released a rockin’ disco-flavored 12-inch called Jamz From the Junkyard on L.A.’s Deepfunk Records, complemented by a Latin groove B-side, “Dance Samba,” that’s garnered buzz throughout the house community.
