Now everyone can be part of the "Paparazzi." Fresh off news that Lady Gaga is losing money on her extravagant North American tour (which has so far reportedly overspent more than $3 million), the eccentric pop star has found a new way to reclaim some of her debt: by inking a deal with Polaroid as the camera brand's newest creative director of specialty products.
Sounds like a no-brainer, considering digital cameras have sent the instant-picture camera into obscurity. The trendsetter may be just what the recently bailed-out-of-bankruptcy company needs, and she'll be designing her own line of co-branded products.[jump]
Gaga already has her own line of cutesy headphones, called Heartbeats (by Monster), and her fashion and set-design choices are groundbreaking, so it'll be neat to see what kind of concepts she comes up with for the company. She'll be working on both instant-film and digital devices for Polaroid.
In a press release, Gaga stated, "I am so excited to extend myself behind the scenes as a designer, and to -- as my father puts it -- finally have a real job." Looks like she has no plans to scale down her massive tour spending.
Expect Gaga-influenced products by the end of the year.
