The Wednesday night lineup at one of downtown Phoenix’s favorite hipster hangouts has been on the receiving end of a major reboot recently. Bi-level EDM emporium Bar Smith, 130 East Washington, axed its moombahton night The Scenario a few weeks back in favor of two newly launched Hump Day happenings on its upper and lower floors, both of which star some of the club’s more popular regulars. For instance, beat-juggler Mark “Ellery” Leach joined forces with Erik “Riot Earp” King and Tomahawk Bang to create LayLow, a night that’s “dedicated to bass, art, and dance.” Each week, a killer combination of DJs and creative types will occupy Bar Smith’s downstairs area to “showcase and expand and blur the boundaries of the downtown community.” Meanwhile, Jake Goldsmith, Aaron Hempsey, and the other members of Rebel Disco will be up on the rooftop every Wednesday spinning sounds during Push Push. Doors open at 9 p.m. for both events. Admission is free before 10:30 p.m., $10 thereafter. Call 602-229-1265.
