Leaf at The Compound Grill

Indie fusion/experimental band Leaf has announced an acoustic show at The Compound Grill, a Phoenix bar that hosts live music nightly (and gives free appetizers to new followers on Twitter.)

The Tempe group, which claims influences including everything from Latin to death metal to electronica, has an eclectic sound and includes Spanish lyrics, care of bilingual vocalist/bassist Ixchel del Castillo. And, the band includes violin, which is always super-cool to see in a local group.

The free show starts at 9:30 p.m. and includes performances by Star Unknown and Sarah Vanell. The band is selling their current CD, In Our Veins, for $5. To check out their music, log on to
