Marques Wyatt made a pilgrimage to New York City in 1984 that not only changed his life, but changed West Coast dance music; Wyatt returned with the roots of the soulful, spiritual house music that would define his legacy. Now, the creative force behind L.A.’s legendary monthly party DEEP, born at the Viper Room, is bringing his deep house grooves to the Valley.
Wyatt is coming to Arizona on the heels of the release of his transcendent album Horizons (Om Records) — widely lauded as a hallmark of uplifting house music — and is scheduled to make an appearance at Batucada, Pete Salaz and Senbad’s weekly house music night at NEXT, 7111 East Fifth Avenue in Scottsdale, on Wednesday, June 9. Admission is $7.
