McDowell Mountain Music Festival has set a date for 2016. On March 11-13, the festival will return to Margaret T. Hance Park in Phoenix.
Last year's festival came at the end of March; this year the organizers are moving it earlier in the month to take advantage of (hopefully) better weather. Not like it was terrible last year — the highs were uncharacteristically in the mid-90s during the day, but the nights cooled off nicely — but organizers are hoping for something a little more seasonally appropriate.
The nonprofit also announced the charitable results of this year's effort. The 2015 festival donated $120,000 to the Phoenix Children's Hospital and UMOM New Day Centers, a shelter for homeless families.
No word yet on the lineup announcement. But tickets go on sale August 1, with special limited edition ticket packages with "top secret" terms being offered for the first 150 people. Last year's deals were pretty sweet, including cheap hotel fair and tickets, so these are worth consideration.
