For most of the past decade, the record-rocking diva known as Sonique des Fleurs has been a mainstay of the Valley’s EDM scene. Since debuting in 1999, the 30-year-old sultry spinstress has been a fixture at countless local raves, club nights, and DJ events around the ‘Nix (including one gig at ASU’s Herberger Theater earlier this year as part of a multimedia “rave fable” titled Iphigenia Crash Land Falls on the Neon Shell That Was Once Her Heart). Currently, you can catch des Fleurs alongside Sol Martinez, as the DJ pair work the ones and twos during MODE Thursdays at Anderson’s Fifth Estate, 6820 East Fifth Avenue in Scottsdale. Along with various guests (including ^UP Saturday’s Shane Silkey, who stops by on Thursday, October 11), Martinez and des Fleurs dole out deep house during the weekly “groove sessions,” where one can chillax with some 1800 margaritas ($5 each) and $5 Skyy cocktails. The music starts at 10 p.m. and there’s no cover. Visit www.myspace.com/modethursdays.
