Mr. Dibbs at P.I.

Aaaaarrrrggggh! Expect to hear a lot of that when Mr. Dibbs, the granddaddy of hardcore turntablism, hits the stage this Friday, November 19, at the P.I. in Tempe. Dibbs, the bald, heavily tattooed demon behind the tables for Atmosphere's touring excursions, throws down the vinyl with an almost metal aesthetic, grinding, screaming, pummeling beats that rattle your rib cage. If Dibbs has a sensitive side, he keeps it well under wraps -- nobody's ever gonna get away with calling his music "emo," even if Atmosphere is occasionally plagued with the "emo-rap" tag.

The Valley's own young (and recently married) turntable virtuoso DJ Radar will be on hand as well. The show is all-ages; admission is $12 for those over 21, $14 for the shorties.
