Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.
The Necronauts
I’ve been wondering what local indie/alt/punk trio the Necronauts have been up to lately; seems I haven’t heard about any shows or tours recently, and they’re one of the most entertaining acts we’ve got around here. If you’ve been missing Billy, Andrew and Dale as well, I’ve got good news – the band is playing a free show at the Paisley Violin on Saturday, January 13, with $1 beers and $5 bottles of wine to boot.
They’re absence is understandable once I found out they’ve been recording with Seven Storey Mountain-man Lance Lammers over the winter, and expect to have a double album ready to go sometime this year. In the meantime, here’s a couple of live tracks recorded at Modified Arts to sate your aural thirst. See you at the show.
