Hip-hop superstar Nicki Minaj is bringing her “Pink Friday” tour to Phoenix on Tuesday, August 7, at Comerica Theatre.
The 14-date North American tour finds her skipping some pretty big cities (L.A. and Philadelphia get radio shows) on her first headlining tour, but returning to Phoenix after supporting Britney Spears last summer.
Our own Nicki Escudero was there, noting that Minaj is “interesting to look at and seems to have a strong personality — something that could have made for a fun set,” and hoped that Minaj would take some cues from Spears for her upcoming tour.
Love her or hate her, it’s hard not to admire her bizarre and wacky antics — that Grammy performance still gets talked about around the office — and her aggressive persona and videos have made it nearly impossible to ignore her.
