Night Train: Van Buren/Central & Van Buren/First Avenue (Stop #12)

Where: Seamus McCaffrey's Irish Pub & Restaurant (18 W. Monroe St., 602-253-6081). Walk one block South and one block East from where you stumbled off the train.

Drink: a pint of Guinness for the tiny sum of $5.50.

Scene: Seamus McCaffrey's has long been one of the Valley's premier Irish pubs and it's a particular popular watering hole for downtown Phoenix office workers. And one of the drinks these cubicle drones are particularly fond of is a proper pint of Guiness and other Irish import beers getting poured by the bartenders. The place has a quaintly old-timey traditional feel to it (which is a requisite for any pub worth its weight in shamrocks) and live Irish music on the weekends. Oh yeah, and probably the best Emerald Isle grub we've ever tasted (try the Sheppard's us). See how many pints of Guinness you can suck down before you hit floor. -- Benjamin Leatherman
