LA Weekly has announced the bill for our Village Voice South by Southwest showcase. M. Ward, Crystal Antlers, Cursive, Gomez and Bear Hands. Crystal Antlers and Cursive are the highlights for me. The new Cursive record, Mama, I’m Swollen — which I popped in today, and happened to be listening to just before I got the news — is more of a straight ahead indie rock than I’d come to expect from the Omaha act, who wowed me with their take on post-hardcore with 2003’s The Ugly Organ. Even if they don’t play “A Gentleman Caller,” we’ll have the Antlers to rock out to.
