Keep Phoenix New Times Free
We’re aiming to raise $10,000 by April 26. Your support ensures New Times can continue watching out for you and our community. No paywall. Always accessible. Daily online and weekly in print.
Scratching, mixing, beat-juggling, all the elements of hip-hop DJing — they’re all good, but sometimes you just wanna hear a song you can dance to straight through, the way you know it, the way you loved it in the first place. And especially if you’re a dance-music recidivist, you need look no further than Panic!, returning to Anderson’s Fifth Estate (6820 East Fifth Avenue in Scottsdale) this Thursday, January 27. Known for its Brit-pop, New Wave, mod, and indie aural offerings (courtesy of DJ Manchester), Panic! is the gold standard for shoegazing-prone dance-floor denizens. As always, the impresarios behind Panic! have a goodie bag full of swag to entice you to attend: new CDs by Erasure, Chemical Brothers, And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, and more, plus some of the hottest concert tickets in town: Bright Eyes, Modest Mouse, and Mates of State. Doors open at 8 p.m., and this is a 21-and-over event.
