Electro-rock provocateur Peaches is back and is just as rude, crude and ready to grind as ever. The Canadian musician and performance artist’s new album “No Lube So Rude” drops next year, and it’s as crass as you’d expect. The upshot for local fans? Peaches is bringing her new tour to Walter Studios on March 24 for her first Phoenix concert in more than a decade.

The Toronto-born artist, Merrill Nisker, is infamous for spraying champagne on fans and simulating sex with stage props. She doesn’t hold back. Her shows mix filthy humor, raw electroclash beats and a full-throttle DGAF attitude. Every performance feels like a sweaty dayglow car crash where good taste doesn’t survive.

When Peaches last played Phoenix in 2009, Phoenix New Times called the gig a “sheer spectacle.” She even crowdsurfed while “(miming) male masturbation while using a microphone as a penis.”

“Vintage Peaches,” Phoenix New Times wrote in 2009.

In announcing her new tour, Peaches said the shows are about power, pleasure and pushing back.

“When the world is friction, lube isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity,” Peaches said. “It’s how you turn that friction into pleasure, into power, into pride. I want people to understand that they can still have a voice, no matter who they are or what the world says about them. Now more than ever, there are so many forces that just want you to give up and be quiet. If this album can help you resist that, then that’s what it’s for.”

Tickets for Peaches’ March 24 concert at Walter Studios go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Eventim. Pre-sale general admission tickets are $43.30 with fees included. Meet-and-greet packages range from $120.62 to $161.85, fees included.
