Local beat manipulators DJ Delikacy and DJ Xtra-E, of Foreign Affair at the Hidden House, are hosting an underground hip-hop blowout at the Hidden House (607 W. Osborn Rd.) this Monday, March 27, in association with the west side collective Modurn Languaj Asosiashun (whose members rhyme much better than they spell). The headliner is Percee P, a veteran of the rap game who’s just about to drop his first solo LP on Peanut Butter Wolf’s Stones Throw Records label, appropriately entitled Perseverance. Also on the bill is Chi-town’s Earatik Statik (MCs Celo and Abstruss Tone and DJ Rude One); as well as Florida’s Asamov; Tableek from the Bronx; and locals Arhythmatik and Equal Opportunity. The “Video Trapped the Rapper Tour,” as they’re calling it, is a welcome infusion of quality indie rap into the Hidden House’s repertoire of rhythms. The show is 21 and over, tickets are $5, and doors open at 9 p.m.
