Some creatures will definitely be stirring this holiday season in Phoenix.
While many Valley bars and venues go dark for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, others keep the lights on. The Rhythm Room hosts its annual Christmas Eve blues throwdown, while Gracie’s Tax Bar and Coach House welcome anyone dodging family time for a stiff drink.
Here are Phoenix bars, clubs and music venues open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2025.

Chopper John’s
2547 E. Indian School Road
Chopper John’s employees told Phoenix New Times the biker- and rocker-friendly bar offers regular hours on Christmas Eve and opens at 3 p.m. on Christmas Day. Will they have live music either night? “Maybe,” they say. Guess you’ll have to stop by and see for yourself.
Coach House
7011 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale
Coach House doesn’t bluff about being open 365 days a year. The staff will pour drinks and spread yuletide cheer on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day amid its signature holiday glow. Hours run 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. both days. No cover.
George & Dragon
4240 N. Central Ave.
Phoenix’s longest-running English pub isn’t closing up shop for the holidays, mate. George & Dragon keeps regular hours on Christmas Eve and opens again Christmas night for its weekly Thursday trivia at 7 p.m. Same pints, same pub energy.
Giligin’s
4251 N. Winfield Scott Plaza, Scottsdale
The offbeat, island-themed dive Giligin’s goes all in on holiday excess. The bar loads up its interior and exterior with thousands of lights and more than a dozen inflatables. Giligin’s is open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Christmas Eve and 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Christmas night, complete with the staff’s trademark good-natured sass.

Gracie’s Tax Bar
711 N. Seventh Ave.
Those looking to decompress after all the family drama can enjoy a Christmas night DJ session by Las Loronas during the Holiday Hangover. The event starts at 10 p.m. Admission is free.
Karamba Nightclub
1724 E. McDowell Road
Phoenix LGBTQ dance club Karamba will be closed on Christmas Eve, but snaps back open Thursday night with a holiday twist. The Flesh Unwrapped Christmas Male Revue brings its lineup of beefcakes to the stage starting at 10 p.m. Expect festive fun and gifts of a very different sort. Doors open at 9 p.m.
The Loft Again
15002 N. Cave Creek Road
The Loft is touting an “epic” Christmas Eve party centered on drinking, dancing and rock ’n’ roll. Not Dead Yet and special guests play from 7 to 9 p.m., followed by Johnny’s Jam from 9 to 11 p.m. There’s no cover.
Pour Decisions
4209 N. Craftsman Court, Scottsdale
Singles of a Jewish background can mix and mingle at Mazelpalooza, the long-running Christmas Eve nightlife event. Put on by the Center for Jewish Philanthropy of Greater Phoenix, the annual party dates back to 1998 and features entertainment and plenty of social rites. The pre-party runs from 8:30 to 9 p.m., followed by the main event from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $50.
Pub Rock Live
8005 E. Roosevelt St., Scottsdale
This south Scottsdale venue and bar will skip its usual Wednesday country dance night on Christmas Eve but won’t go dark. The place stays open for drinks and casual hangs from noon to midnight. Feel free to wear some boots, hats and western wear in case you’d like to dress up.

Benjamin Leatherman
The Rhythm Room
1019 E. Indian School Road
Wednesday night won’t be silent inside The Rhythm Room. Renowned bluesman and harmonica ace Billy Watson hits the stage with local heavy hitters Bill Tarsha and the Rocker 88s. Sweaty grooves, wailing harps and a bluesy Christmas Eve soundtrack are on tap starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.
September’s Bar
500 W. Southern Ave., Mesa
No-frills fun is on tap at this Mesa dive favorite on both Wednesday and Thursday. The bar will keep regular hours from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Wednesday, then open later than usual on Christmas Day, according to an employee. Check the bar’s Facebook page for the exact opening time.
Sugarcane Lounge
2535 N. Central Ave.
Sugarcane’s annual Naughty or Nice affair brings big Christmas Eve energy with zero restraint. Festive looks are encouraged (think Santa-core, yuletide costumes or anything with Christmastime colors or drip). Local DJs keep the dance floor packed with party favorite bangers starting at 9 p.m. Admission is $10.
Swizzle Inn
5835 N. 16th St.
Swizzle Inn may have a new owner, but the midtown dive institution is staying true to its traditions. To wit: The bar will be open on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for anyone needing a drink or some lively banter. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Wednesday and noon to 2 a.m. on Christmas Day.

Thunderbird Lounge
Thunderbird Lounge
710 W. Montecito Ave.
Thunderbird Lounge will be open on Christmas Eve with its Melrose Wonderland pop-up bar in full-on sparkle mode. The festive takeover runs from 5 to 9 p.m. and brings holiday cocktails, luminous décor and a variety of photo-op moments.
Yucca Tap Room
29 W. Southern Ave., Tempe
Yucca Tap Room never closes, not even for Christmas. The Tempe dive and neighboring Electric Bat Arcade stay open on Wednesday and Thursday for two days of drinking, loud tunes and regrettable choices. Christmas Eve turns into full Lemmy worship with DJs Larue, Jasperpunk, Spin Lizzy and Sonic Moronic playing nothing but Motörhead tracks from 7 p.m. to close. No cover.
