You just can't keep a good emo band down.
Following their original run from 1992 to 1995, icons Sunny Day Real Estate have reunited several times over the years. That includes reunions from 1997 to 2001, 2009 to 2011 and again in 2022. Fortunately, this latest run still seems to have some magic in at as Sunny Day Real Estate have announced their latest North American tour.
The band has some early shows scheduled in May and June, including dates in the U.K. They'll return stateside in September, with the Phoenix show happening Sept. 14 at The Van Buren. While this tour is only comprised of 12 shows (so far), it seems to be special for other reasons. Namely, according to a statement from the band, they're looking to "celebrate songs from all of our records and more" as they also focus on "some cities we haven’t been to in a while, or ever!"
Aside from touring, Sunny Day's latest reunion has been quite busy in other areas. In 2024 alone, they released their first new song in roughly 10 years, "Novum Vetus"; toured behind 1994's seminal "Diary" record; and later unveiled a live version of that album, "Diary at London Bridge Studio." They've also played several high-profile shows, including Las Vegas’ Best Friends Forever Festival and the Dia de los Deftones event in San Diego.
Tickets go on sale Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
