Tim Heidecker plots Phoenix show for huge North American tour

You may recognize Tim Heidecker as the shorter, less bearded member of Tim and Eric. Lest you forget, though, Heidecker is also an accomplished musician, both with his buddy Davin Wood and as a solo act. It’s that latter project (fronting The Very Good Band) that’s embarking on a new North American tour.

The tour kicks off tomorrow (Jan. 22) in San Francisco, Calif. before wrapping up on Feb. 25 in Phoenix at the Crescent Ballroom. The tour promises supporting appearances from comedian Neil Hamburger and comedian-musician DJ Douggpound, with the Phoenix show featuring a “secret surprise guest.” Is anyone else thinking a little Tim and Eric reunion action?

Heidecker is performing in support of his latest album, “Slipping Away.” In sharp contrast to his comedy (or perhaps in response to?), the LP is this thoughtful and reflective album that captures the sense of gloom and doom that prevails modern society. He’s made you laugh plenty, and this record will surely have you deep within your feelings.
