Prince Is Coming to Marquee Theatre

Update: Tickets are now available from Luckyman Online. Each night will feature two shows from Prince, an early and late show, and tickets are available for $277.

Folks, the time has come to purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka. Or, uh, Tempe Tempe Lake.* Because Prince is coming to Marquee Theatre.

*The staff at Up on the Sun does not actually think you should enter Tempe Town Lake. At all.

Following a bananas set at SXSW -- which found him covering Michael Jackson and returning to the stage for six, count 'em, six encores -- news site Drfunkenberry states that Purple One and 3rd Eye Girl (Donna Grantis, Hannah Ford Welton, and Ida Nielsen) have announced a small run of club dates dubbed the Live Out West tour, which finds the group hitting the Marquee Theatre in Tempe for four shows on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1.

2013 looks to be a big year for Prince: A whole bunch of new material from Prince and 3rd Eyed Girl (another in a long line of Prince-affiliated lady singers), including the awesome single "Screwdriver," is available from at 3rd Eye Girl's site, a stunning reversal from Prince's proclamation that the Internet was bad. The increased activity could lead to a new album, but at this point, we're just happy to have a little face time with the guy.
