The force is quite strong with DJ Dark Vader. While he doesn’t wield a lightsaber or bomb around in a TIE Fighter (at least, not that we’re aware of), the renowned mixmaster has spent the past few months making the East Valley a little bit more irie with his weekly Jamaican night at Caribbean Fusion, 2515 North Scottsdale Road in Scottsdale. Every Sunday, Vader pumps out reggae, soca, dancehall, and African beats while MC Daddy Spencer works the mic as host. (Guest DJs are also featured, such as Kdee on Sunday, August 16.) Drink specials include $5 top-shelf liquors, as well as Hennessy and rum punch for only $3. Doors open at 9 p.m. with a $5 cover. Call 480-990-1599.
