Independent Journalism in Phoenix Needs You
We need to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the reporting our community depends on. Reader support keeps us independent and is playing a larger role in funding local journalism and shaping what comes next. If you believe independent local journalism matters, make a contribution today.

So, not only is cartoonish comedian and impressionist Robin Williams still popular enough to sell out Dodge Theatre once, apparently the old goat is too popular for a single show in Phoenix.
“Due to the overwhelming demand to see the hysterical standup of Robin Williams, a second night of comedy at Dodge Theatre has been added on Saturday, February 14,” says an announcement from the promoter, LiveNation. “The multi-faceted performer can also be seen performing his lively standup act on Friday, February 13.”
Tickets for the Feb. 14 “Weapons of Self Destruction” show go on sale this coming Monday at rates of $95, $75, and $50. Seems kinda steep but, really, what could be more romantic than Robin Williams on Valentine’s Day?
