Even with Ozzfest gearing up for another go, metalheads would be hard pressed to find a better festival bill this summer than the Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour. Slipknot — Iowa’s favorite (and probably only) Grammy-winning metal band — headlines the melee, with a barrage of badass metallers in tow, including Disturbed, who just released their third consecutive number one record, Indestructible. For brutal prog-metal enthusiasts, Mastodon is a must-see, and acts like Dragonforce and Machine Head bring back an old-school metal sound with an extra helping of burliness. Also look out for Michigan metalcore band Walls of Jericho, whose singer, Candace Kucsulain, is the sole female performer on this testosterone-drenched tour.
