When Music Editor Martin Cizmar asked me to accompany him to Mexico to cover a Roger Clyne concert for the debut of his column, Sonic Truth, I knew it was going to be a big deal.
But it wasn't until I was hanging from a scaffold trying get photos of Roger Clyne on stage at Circus Mexicus when the breadth of his fan base became apparent to me. Trying to get a clear shot from the front of the stage was impossible thanks to impenetrable crowd screaming as though four fab boys from Liverpool were on that dusty stage. Behind them the crowd stretched out into the night, fueled by beer and waiting to hear the next song.
To help illustrate what that night was like, we've prepared the following:Slideshow: Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers at Circus Mexicus
If you haven't seen it, be sure to check out our slideshow of shots direct from Circus Mexicus in Rocky Point, Mexico. And be sure to click "more" to see concert footage and an exclusive interview with Roger Clyne himself.
