Support the independent voice of Phoenix and help keep the future of New Times free.
Shawn Anderson has quickly become one of the best concert photographers in town.
So it's totally fitting that Anderson, who shoots concert photos for local music blog Electric Mustache -- and, full disclosure, sometimes for us -- gets the gallery treatment tonight. The show is 7-10 p.m. at SuTRA Midtown Yoga and features three local acts playing acoustically.
"I can't think of a better way to spend a Friday night," says Shawn, in a somewhat disingenuous and self-serving way that seemingly ignores the existence of private jets, champagne and cities like Paris and New York. "You should come down, it's going to be totally rad AND boss! Oh and did I mention that the whole thing is totally free? As in no charge to you or anybody you bring."
He might be right as far as this particular Friday night in Phoenix goes, however.
(Note: Despite being talented, Shawn is also a total asshole who made his images not savable-by-right-click, so view a nice collection here.)
Keep Phoenix New Times Free... Since we started Phoenix New Times, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Phoenix, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Phoenix with no paywalls.
