Club Candids had so much fun gallivanting among the potholes and dirt mounds of downtown Phoenix last week that we decided to hit up the ‘hood again for the Brickhouse Theatre 2007 Industry Party on Saturday, February 10. The show was the venue’s clever ploy to bring some butts through the door to check out their remodeled digs. With a brand new bar pumping out beer and munchies, patrons drank up and pigged out.
While we’ve enjoyed the glitz and glamour of recent Club Candids outings, the kicked-back crew and hunker-down mood at the Brickhouse was a refreshing change of pace. The place was full of tee shirts and beer bottles, and it provided the perfect setting for listening to live bands and chatting with friends. Small groups lounged around the large venue, which has plenty of seating and tables for a relaxing evening. And with music at the perfect volume, no one had to strain their vocal chords to be heard. All in all, Brickhouse provided a nice treat for its visitors — a Sunday morning hangover, sans ringing ears and scratchy throat.
