Don’t let that mask scare you. DJ Raccoon doesn’t want to dig through your trash; he wants to get your ass moving. “I stray far, far away from Top 40,” Raccoon, a.k.a. Jake Brennan, says via e-mail. Raccoon is more into indie, dance, house, and dub, which he’ll be playing poolside on Saturday, June 9, when he soundtracks Splash, this year’s first installment of pool bashes presented by “Psyko Steve” Chilton at the Lexington Hotel, 1100 North Central Avenue. DJ Raccoon is taking a break from his duties in L.A. DJ duo Beat Mass, and he’ll be debuting new remixes at Splash, as well as spinning Beat Mass tracks. “I plan on bringing a bit of an experimental and weird vibe.” Let’s hope that furry headgear is waterproof. The fun starts at 7 p.m., and admission is $5.
