Things normally seem dead around these parts at this time of year, thanks in no small part to the heat kicking into high gear. So we were mighty surprised when the cats behind hip-hop lifestyle brand Coolin Out announced they were bringing back their club night Supreme Sundays this weekend, which happens to fall at the beginning of the summer doldrums. While most other Valley nightlife promoters might be jetting away on vacay, the hip-hop impresarios of the Coolin Out crew will be kicking it inside the air-conditioned digs of Hidden House, 607 West Osborn Road, on Sunday, June 15, combating the swelter with mad swagger, as well as rappers, live art, and turntablists. Underground hip-hop star Aceyalone will serve as the special guest of the evening and the lineup of local performers includes RoQ’y TyRaiD, Blaine Coffee, and Tapas, as well as DJs Fact 135 and Tricky T. The place gets bouncing at 8 p.m. Admission is $7. See www.coolinoutworldwide.com.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
