2010 has been kind to West Palm Beach indie upstarts Surfer Blood. Their debut LP, Astro Coast, has found massive critical acclaim — even from “Nothing Not New’s” Jay Bennett — helping make a name for the Florida foursome. What spectacular start to a year, then, would be complete without a tour that includes a stop in Phoenix? None — that is why Surfer Blood have announced a 2010 tour that starts off in London and works its way through North America, including a March 24 date at Phoenix’s Trunk Space. This particular date comes on the heels of a four-day showcase at Austin’s SXSW, but since the band was in a spirited mood, they decided to include a stop at nearby Phoenix a few days afterwards. The Valley is truly the winner, here, and Surfer Blood have endeared themselves to yours truly, not to mention their various Arizona fans.
