Tall Paul

Although British DJ extraordinaire Paul Newman (a.k.a. Tall Paul) shares the same name with the famous film actor, the world-renowned turntablist won't be starring in any Oscar-winning films about pool hustlers or creating his own brand of gourmet salad dressings any time soon. Instead, the six-foot-seven DJ is more likely to be found spinning hard house tracks in the hottest clubs around the world or remixing artists like New Order, Erasure, Duran Duran, Blondie, and the Human League. This beat-matching beanstalk has been towering over the worldwide house scene since he started working the wheels of steel at his father's London club in 1987 at the age of 16, and stops by Myst in Scottsdale on Friday, February 24, for its weekly House 7340 event. Tickets for the 21-and-over fete are $10 and can be purchased at www.eventvibe.com.
