The EDM impresarios and party promoters behind this weekend's outdoor extravaganza The Big Event are charging anywhere from $25 to $65 for the privilege of attending (depending on when and where you buy admission). And believe us, it's worth every damn penny. Described as the "Arizona's largest dance music event," this all-night rave and DJ massive will feature a loaded lineup of more than 40 beat-jugglers and turntablists spending the evening of Friday, May 21, spinning up 10 straight hours of music at Firebird International Raceway, 20000 South Maricopa Road in Chandler. Each of the event's four stages will offer a different set of headliners, including such marquee-level talent as England's Simon Patterson and Matt Darey, ATL indie-electro freakazoid Le Castle Vania, and German electronica artist Klaas. Local-girl-made-good Sandra Collins is also scheduled to perform, as are dozens of the Valley's finest selectas. Gates open at 4 p.m. Call 602-708-0323 or see www.myspace.com/thebigeventinfo for the complete schedule.
