It’s not only a new year, but a new decade to boot, so the hip-hop heroes running the Blunt Club decided it was high time for a new start. After spending the past couple of years rocking both microphones and turntables at the Red Owl, they’re re-launching the venerable weekly at the soon-to-be-expanded Yucca Tap Room, 29 West Southern Avenue in Tempe, starting on Thursday, January 28. Pickster One, DJ Element, and artist Dumperfoo will continue to serve up the best in hip-hop music (as well as hosting the illest national underground acts), just at a whole new venue. Special guest Tricky T will also be in the house for the re-launch party, which starts at 9 p.m. Admission is free. See www.myspace.com/bluntclub.
