The Blunt Club’s Birthday @ Yucca Tap Room

It takes real skills to maintain staying power in the realm of hip-hop. Just look at such one-hit wonders as Buck 65, The Ying Yang Twins, and Das EFX, all of which have faded into rap history. Thankfully, the proficient peeps behind The Blunt Club have little in common with the aforementioned flashes in the pan, as the popular hip-hop affair has stuck around for almost a decade. The long-running weekly is turning nine on Thursday, May 19, and resident DJs Element, Tricky T, and Pickster One will be celebrating the occasion in style. Plenty of special guests will be turning out at the Yucca Tap Room, 29 West Southern Avenue in Tempe, to perform at the party, including such local artists as Mr. Miranda, RoQy TyRaiD, Random (a.k.a. Mega Ran), and Pennywise. As always, Thriftshop will serve as host and Adam “Dumperfoo” Dumper will be slinging paints and pigments. The event starts at 9 p.m. and there’s no cover. Call 480-967-4777.
