As geekazoids of the world will undoubtedly tell you, crossovers can be pretty effin’ cool. Doesn’t matter if it involves Aliens battling Predators or the heroes of Marvel taking on the dudes from DC, whenever characters from differing realms hang out, the result is almost always greater than the sum of its parts. The deckmasters and beat-jugglers from a few of the PHX’s hottest dance events have a similar idea in mind, as they’re planning to mix and mingle during a newly monthly called The Crossover. Kicking off on Sunday, October 3, the event will feature residents from such nights as Fuse Fridays (Mara, Disko Da, Alkeme), UK Thursdays (HavocNDeeD, Ill-legal?) taking over 910 Live, 910 North McClintock Drive in Tempe, along with such cats as Zachary J. from the Night Thieves and Burning Bridges’ Bigie in what’s sure to be an audio orgy of drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep, glitch, electro, and breakbeats. SoCal’s Kill The Noise and Shortee will serve as special guest stars during the debut edition. The music starts at 9 p.m. and admission is $12. See www.wanttickets.com.
