Your social schedule for this weekend is looking quite barren, and the probability of you scoring with that hottie from that costume party is running about 2:1 against. But don’t panic! There’s still a possibility of having a really hoopy time on Saturday, March 22, at The DJ’s Guide to the Galaxy. While it ain’t the answer to life, the universe, and everything by any means, the rave might be the biggest bang since the Big one, with a slew of local and visiting turntablists and other zarkin froods rocking three different stages. “Deep Thought” hosts harder versions of trance, house, and acid with DJ Mike Charles, while “Vogon City” features L.A.’s DJ Eric L. spinning hardcore, and “Magrathea” offers junglism and other bass-heavy beats from SoCal’s DJ Whizard (who’s teaming up with MC XYZ), as well as DJ Zealot and the UK’s MC Dyer. Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are optional. Admission costs $15 before 10 p.m., $20 afterwards. Call 602-299-7721 on the night of the event for its location.
