The Prince vs. Michael Experience @ The Clubhouse Music Venue

The King of Pop. His Royal Badness. Collectively, Michael Jackson and Prince helped define the early-'80s era of MTV, revolutionized both R&B and popular music, sold an eff-load of albums, and influenced thousands of musicians worldwide. Head-to-head, however, it's hard to say who was better. This pop-star smackdown is at the heart of The Prince vs. Michael Experience, which will take place inside the Clubhouse Music Venue, 1320 East Broadway Road in Tempe, on Friday, February 11. San Francisco's DJ Dave Paul and the PHX's DJ Akshen will mix and match all manner of remixes, classic tracks, and songs from either artist (as well as cuts by such ancillary acts as Sheila E., The Jackson 5, and Morris Day and the Time) during the 18-and-over event. Meanwhile, fans of each superstar will "go toe-to-toe on the dance floor," but hopefully not in "Beat It" fashion with arms tied and switchblades drawn. Doors open at 8 p.m. and admission is $10.
