Omaha’s Tilly and the Wall doesn’t have a drummer. But the band’s figured out a way to lay down the beat just the same: Member Jamie Pressnall provides percussive rhythms by tap-dancing. Yes, tap-dancing. Left to the wrong feet, it could all turn into a gimmicky, indie-pop version of Riverdance. But the five cute and bubbly kids in Tilly make it all positively charming. Their third CD is due this summer, but you can hear some new songs on their current tour. Listen especially for the single, “Beat Control,” a futuristic and Technicolor spin on the group’s usual ’60s-hued pop. Also keep your ears peeled for Tilly’s toe-tapping covers of Journey’s “Separate Ways” and OutKast’s “Hey Ya!” Shake it!
