I just got word that tonight’s Sexy Saturdays affair, which is put on by local station Power 98.3 FM, has been cancelled. The weekly hip-hop dance party was set to move into its new digs at the Golden Buddha, the Sino eatery located at the Chinese Cultural Center in east Phoenix.
I wasn’t able to find any info on the cancellation on the Web sites for either the radio station or VIP Enterprises, the event’s promoter. A hand-written sign was posted on Golden Buddha’s front door that said “Sexy Saturdays canceled.” I also put in a couple calls to Power 98.3’s request line to see if they could provide any 411 on the situation, but no one was answering. The decision to pull the plug likely went down sometime today, as I spoke with some of Golden Buddha’s employees yesterday afternoon and they confirmed at that time that Sexy Saturdays was, indeed, happening.
Stay tuned for more info.
