Twin Shadow @ Crescent Ballroom

Can you handle the truth? If stuff like honesty and real-life stories are your kind of thing, and you also happen to be heading to Crescent Ballroom on June 27 to see Twin Shadow, be prepared get your fix via personal storytelling, an added element to the night of music. In addition to performing his synth-driven tunes that envelop a love of pop, new wave, and R&B, crooner Twin Shadow — born George Lewis Jr. — is bringing along some true tales to feature at each one of the tour's 23 stops. He's also bringing his dad. It's called the "Twin Shadow True Story Tour" for a reason. Growing up, Lewis' father regaled him with intriguing stories of his own experiences. He often ponders just how these interesting yarns may have influenced his songwriting. Either way, it gave him an appreciation for storytelling, which he thought might be just the right dynamic to make this current tour a little extra-special. Each night, either he or his pop will drop some narrative on the crowd. And when there's no talking going on, be prepared to groove on some of Twin Shadow's songs, like "Patient," from his most current release, Confess.
